Penn Yan police investigate suspected murder-suicide in village
Police are investigating a suspected murder-suicide involving a couple on Franklin Street in the Village of Penn Yan. Michael Personale and Ashley Manaco were found dead in their home, with Personale suffering multiple gunshot wounds and Manaco dying from a self-inflicted gunshot wound. The tragic incident took place just one year after a similar situation occurred next door.

A 30-year-old male victim was found with multiple serious stab wounds to his upper body. U.S. Senate Majority Leader Charles Schumer announced that he has secured $820,000 in federal funding to help the Corning Museum of Glass expand its educational programs. A 24-year-old Horseheads man has been sentenced to 12 years in prison for his involvement in the kidnapping and manslaughter of Juan Jose Gotay in 2021. Thomas Bovaird received the sentence as part of a plea deal, which also includes two and a half years of post-release supervision.
