First up today we have the latest in a new legal battle between the Cayuga Nation and owners of the Finger Lakes Drive-In. The Nation has blocked the entrance to the property, effectively forcing the business to remain closed. The issue is a previous land-use agreement, which property owners say should be honored, while the Nation contends it has no relevance today. [READ MORE]
Next up, a popular shopping plaza in the village of Penn Yan has new owners. The Lake Street plaza was purchased by a group of local investors, according to new reports. The total purchase price was $1.9 million. [READ MORE]

Richard Nielens Jr., a former supervisor for the town of Mentz, is facing charges related to a child sex crime. The 65-year-old, also a former member of the Mentz Town Board, has been charged with disseminating indecent material to minors, a class D felony, and endangering the welfare of a child, a misdemeanor. And finally — state police are resuming efforts to get answers in a longtime cold case. A deceased male infant, known locally as “Baby Wayne” was found on February 27, 1987 in the town of Marion. Authorities believed at the time the baby was alive for hours after being abandoned along Marion-Walworth Road. [READ MORE]
