The State Board of Elections has announced a modified early voting period for the upcoming presidential primary elections, excluding Easter Sunday, March 31, from the early voting calendar. Governor Kathy Hochul announced the allocation of over $260 million in funding to support the construction and preservation of more than 1,800 homes across New York State. Two local projects — including Creekview Apartments in Canandaigua and Olympia Terrace in Auburn will means more than 150 new units of housing coming online in those communities in the coming months. And finally, the town of Sennett is set to host a public hearing to deliberate on a proposed law aimed at regulating solar energy projects within its jurisdiction. Scheduled for 6:30 p.m. on Thursday, March 21, at the Sennett Town Hall, the meeting will also address updates to the town’s lodging regulations. Watkins Glen sophomore gets victory, All-American status at Adidas Indoor Nationals
Watkins Glen High School’s Madison Tuttle emerged as the champion in the One Mile Racewalk at the Adidas Indoor Nationals held in Virginia Beach. The sophomore standout not only clinched the title among nine competitors but also secured All-American status for the second time following her recent accolade at the New Balance Nationals in Boston. Tuttle’s winning time of 8:09.62 outpaced the second-place finisher by a significant margin, underscoring her dominance in the event.
