The Wayne County Board of Supervisors has approved a $213.3 million budget for 2024, marking a significant decrease in the tax levy by $2 million and lowering the tax rate. The budget, which reflects a 6.4% increase from the current $200 million, was adopted following a public hearing. [Read More]

Canandaigua City Council, in a unanimous decision, approved the city’s budget for 2024, setting the spending plan at $20.7 million, marking a notable increase of 10.8% from the 2023 budget of $18.7 million. This new budget will result in a slight uptick in the tax burden for city property owners, with the tax rate now set at $7.74 per $1,000 of assessed property value, up by 7 cents from the current rate.
