Lyons couple face felony assault charges after lying about 1-year-old’s injuries: Child hospitalized in Rochester
State police have arrested two people in Lyons after a young child was seriously injured in an incident there. On August 24, troopers arrested Terrell Martinez, 24, and Morgan Pentycofe, 29, for second-degree assault, and second-degree assault on a child under 7.
Ithaca man abducted and murdered, 10 people arrested amid investigation
State Police announced the arrest of ten individuals linked to the abduction and subsequent murder of 33-year-old Thomas Rath from Ithaca. Rath was reported missing on May 20 after he was forcefully taken from his campsite behind Lowes in the city.

Lobbyists in NY spent record-breaking $331M in 2022, per report
The Commission on Ethics and Lobbying in Government (COELIG) revealed on Monday that lobbying expenditures in New York soared to an all-time high of $331 million in 2022, marking a 13.2% increase from the previous year. The leading contributors to this unprecedented figure included the 1199SEIU Labor Management Initiatives, Inc. Healthcare Education Project with $5.7 million and the Greater New York Hospital Association, Indc. which spent $3.5 million.
