Three indicted after armed robbery, high-speed chase in Auburn
Cayuga County prosecutors confirmed the indictment of multiple suspects involved in a high-speed pursuit and an armed robbery incident in Auburn. Kevin Huntington Jr., 19, faces numerous charges, including three counts of attempted aggravated assault upon a police officer and fourth-degree possession of stolen property. The indictment alleges he aimed to inflict “serious physical injury” to three Auburn officers by attempting to strike them with a stolen vehicle during a chase. In a separate incident, Huntington was also indicted for second-degree assault linked to an attack at 110 Owasco St.
Waterloo murder trial postponed due to new evidence
The trial for two individuals, Wayne Ellison Jr. and Christopher Kesterson, implicated in the 2022 fatal shooting of former local, William Waugh, has been postponed. Seneca County District Attorney Mark Sinkiewicz told the Finger Lakes Times that the delay came after the defense was presented with fresh discovery materials, largely obtained by the prosecution only the previous week. The court is currently in the process of determining a new trial date.
Rochester Home Builders’ Association part of collaboration to boost affordable housing in Ontario County
Ontario County, recently a seller’s market with homes selling over three percent above the asking price, is seeing a collaboration to address the housing crunch. The Rochester Home Builders’ Association and Buffalo-based Marrano Homes announced a partnership to construct homes in Farmington, aiming to provide affordable housing options. During a recent press conference, a representative from the association emphasized the need for such developments, not only for young families but also for senior housing, allowing seniors to transition in their real estate journeys and freeing up properties for new entrants.
