Rochester Regional Health Opens Victor Medical Campus: Look Inside the New Facility
Rochester Regional Health (RRH) has opened its new Victor Medical Campus, a nearly 10,000-square-foot facility designed to bring a wide range of healthcare services under one roof. The campus, located in the Cobblestone Court plaza across from Eastview Mall, offers Orthopedic Care, Family Medicine, Cardiology, and X-Ray Services, as well as the region’s only walk-in, no-appointment-needed Orthopedic Urgent Care.
Hazy, hot, and humid! Feeling like summer again today.
Fast 5: What’s happening in the Finger Lakes?
FINAL REPORT LATER THIS YEAR: The Genesee Transportation Council and New York State Department of Transportation are considering three alternatives for the Route 96-Route 14 interchange in Phelps. Options include an at-grade signalized intersection, an at-grade roundabout, and a full interchange replacement, with costs ranging from $7 million to $25 million.
WHY NO SERVICE: The Fingerlakes Mall is urging community members to voice their concerns following the cancellation of Centro bus service from the mall to the Great New York State Fair. Centro has cited a “shortage of bus operators” as the reason for not extending services beyond Onondaga County. Despite the mall’s efforts to reinstate the service, frustrations remain high among those relying on this transportation.
VANDALISM AT CORNELL: Cornell University’s main administrative building, Day Hall, was vandalized by pro-Palestine activists on the first day of the fall semester, with graffiti reading “Israel bombs, Cornell pays” and “Blood is on your hands” spray-painted on the entrance.
EV BUS MANDATE A CHALLENGE: As students return to school, concerns are mounting over New York’s mandate requiring school districts to fully transition to electric buses by 2035. While most districts still rely on diesel buses, New York State has set deadlines: no new diesel buses by 2027 and a complete phase-out by 2035.
ANOTHER HATE CRIME: Ithaca Police are investigating a second assault reported early Saturday morning on East State Street near The Ithaca Commons as a potential hate crime after derogatory comments were made about the victims’ ethnicity during the incident. Last week another incident was detailed by police, where a person was assaulted and the suspect made statements during the attack that led investigators to open a hate crime investigation.
INSIDE THE FLX: Can New York State Hit Clean Energy Goals?
On episode #512 of Inside the FLX we’re joined by Noah Ginsberg, the executive director of NYSEIA, to discuss the state’s climate energy goals. This summer there has been reporting about clean energy goals and the state’s ability to hit them — like the one released by Comptroller Tom DiNapoli. Ginsberg says the roadmap is clear and the status quo won’t get the job done. In many cases, the solution starts with rooftop solar.
