Canandaigua Knights Honored for Raising $40,000 in Fight Against Cancer
The Canandaigua Knights 10U travel hockey team has been recognized with the New York State Senate Empire Award for their extraordinary efforts in raising over $40,000 for the American Cancer Society through their “Hockey Fights Cancer” initiative. The award, presented by State Senator Pam Helming, was given during a special November 30 game at the Greater Canandaigua Civic Center. The event, which featured participation from over 20 local businesses and more than 100 individual contributors, showcased the power of community in supporting cancer research and patient care.

LAKE EFFECT SNOW TAPERING OFF TODAY
The Finger Lakes region will get a break from the season's first lake effect snow event, and so will Western and Northern New York, but residents are warned to brace for a new round of wintry weather. The National Weather Service (NWS) confirmed that the lake effect snow, which has coated parts of Wayne, Cayuga, and Onondaga counties, will diminish by this afternoon. After it does—focus will shift to an areawide snowfall, which is expected to impact the Finger Lakes beginning Wednesday night into Thursday.

The Town of Rose says it’s comprehensive plan will not impact the environment. The Town Board determined that the plan will not result in significant environmental impacts, according to a Negative Declaration issued by the board. [MORE ON THE DECLARATION]

The state DEC has announced an administrative renewal for the SPDES permit for the Macedon Sewer Treatment Plant. The facility, located at 135 Main Street in the Town of Macedon, processes sanitary wastewater with a flow rate of 0.75 million gallons per day.
