‘SEMICONDUCTOR SUPERHIGHWAY’: Thruway will be integral to Buffalo-Rochester-Syracuse tech hub
Senate Majority Leader Chuck Schumer announced a $40 million investment to turn I-90 into a “semiconductor superhighway” through the CHIPS Act. The funds will create the “NY SMART I-Corridor Tech Hub,” connecting Buffalo, Rochester, and Syracuse. This corridor is expected to produce 25% of all microchips in the U.S. Schumer emphasized the positive impact on local job opportunities, stating that parents no longer need to see their kids leave the area for work.

For a second night in a row, the New York Mets picked up an extra-inning victory against the Washington Nationals, winning 7-2 to move back over .500 at 42-41. With the game tied at two in the top of the 10th, Jose Iglesias lined a run-scoring double, and the Mets turned it into another massive inning, adding four more to pull away.
