The village of Waterloo is the latest winner of New York’s Downtown Revitalization Initiative. They join Geneva and Seneca Falls as other local winners of the $10 million prize. The grant will support an array of downtown projects, officials said after Gov. Hochul made the announcement in Rochester on Tuesday. [MORE]
Necessary improvements to Cayuga County’s Office Building look expensive. The legislature got its first look at a plan from Colliers Engineering & Design, who estimated costs of about $52.3 million to overhaul the aging structure that was damaged in a wind storm last month. [MORE]

Deb Turner has led the Finger Lakes region’s 211 Lifeline program for many years. It’s a program dedicated to connecting people to services – dozens of them – across the region. She was in-studio this week to discuss the impact of the 211 program, it’s evolution over the last decade, and how the pandemic permanently changed the world they serve.

The high school basketball postseason has begun, and a full slate of games took place across the Wayne-Finger Lakes on Tuesday in the pre-quarterfinal round. The night was highlighted by Gananda senior Eva Jenny joining the 1000-point club and the Waterloo boys outlasting Haverling in overtime, with the teams combining for 183 points.
