Greenidge tries to stop groups from intervening in bid for court injunction to keep Dresden plant open
Greenidge Generation LLC is trying to exclude four environmental groups from its bid to convince a court to block a state order to permanently shut down its Dresden power plant by Nov. 1. The company filed a lawsuit in Yates County Supreme Court last month against the state Department of Environmental Conservation, seeking a court injunction to prevent the forced closure.

A 66-year-old Canandaigua woman was arrested Tuesday after a stabbing incident at her Camelot Court apartment. Officers from the Canandaigua Police Department responded to the scene on Tuesday, following a report of an assault. The attack caused the victim to suffer a collapsed lung. [Read More]
A sergeant at the Auburn Correctional Facility was knocked unconscious by an inmate during an altercation on September 4, according to the New York State Correctional Officers and Police Benevolent Association (NYSCOPBA). The incident occurred around 4:15 p.m. when an inmate attacked the officer from behind, causing her to strike a metal fence post. [Read More]
