MILD TO START BUT GETTING COLD
Rain will arrive Wednesday morning in the Finger Lakes and Central New York, gradually turning to wet snow later in the day as temperatures drop. By Wednesday night, lake effect snow bands will develop, bringing heavy snowfall east of Lake Erie and Lake Ontario through early Friday, with totals reaching up to 2-3 feet in some areas. Winds up to 40 mph could cause blowing snow and travel disruptions, while temperatures will remain cold, with highs in the mid-20s and wind chills in the single digits. A warming trend is expected over the weekend, with highs in the 40s and a chance of light rain.
