While some thought federal funding would mean a proposed homeless shelter would breeze through city hall — reality has proven to be anything but the case. The Department of Justice announced a hearing for Patrick Dai, the Cornell student accused of issuing threats in October, is set for Wednesday afternoon at the Syracuse Federal Courthouse. Dai faces charges of using interstate communications to threaten to kill or injure. [KEEP READING]
And finally, an inmate at Cayuga Correctional Facility intentionally exposed four officers to blood during a violent confrontation, according to NYSCOPBA. They say the incident began when officer noticed the inmate’s cell window covered and received no response to orders to make the window visible. Upon entering the cell, officers were attacked by the inmate, leading to injuries and significant blood exposure for three of the officers involved. [KEEP READING]
