LifeNet’s parent company Air Methods files for bankruptcy protection: Finger Lakes service won’t be hit
What’s next for LifeNet of New York? Last weekend reports surfaced that LifeNet’s parent company, Air Methods, was facing financial uncertainty. Days later, the company announced a major agreement with lenders to restructure debt, and ensure operation continues. Company officials said in an announcement on Tuesday though that services would be maintained, despite Air Methods entering into a restructuring phase. All told, a majority of creditors have agreed to a proposed reorganization that amounts to a debt reduction of $1.5 billion, bringing it’s total debt down to $533 million from an original $2.24 billion.

Jimmy Giannettino says Auburn headed in right direction amid campaign for mayor
He currently serves on Auburn City Council and says that a large part of his goal is to continue building on the successes of Mayor Quill’s administration. He talked about the importance of maintaining services like fire, police, and EMS, as well as working on environmental issues like Owasco Lake’s water quality.
Controversy surrounds highway superintendent candidate and Supervisor Ferrara in Seneca Falls
In the weeks leading up to Election Day, controversy has surrounded former Town of Seneca Falls employee Ed Thurston, who’s running for highway superintendent, and current Town Supervisor Mike Ferrara. Thurston recently issued a statement to address allegations regarding his previous employment and detailed a contentious relationship with Ferrara. While Thurston is running for highway superintendent, Ferrera is running for a second term as town supervisor. And with Election Day less than two weeks away – the claims outlined by Thurston have become central in both political races.
