Hochul signs cryptomining moratorium in New York
Governor Kathy Hochul has signed a first-in-the-nation cryptomining moratorium. It comes less than two weeks after the collapse of FTX, a cryptocurrency exchange that saw a high-profile demise. Proof-of-work is the blockchain-based algorithm used by bitcoin and a few other cryptocurrencies.

The student loan payment moratorium was set to expire January 1st, 2023. Now it will resume 60 days after the lawsuits challenging debt forgiveness are resolved.
