Syracuse suffers first home loss, falls to Florida State 85-69
The Syracuse Orange suffered its first home loss of the season Tuesday night, falling to the Florida State Seminoles, 85-69. Judah Mintz led all scorers with 28 points and was one of just two Orange players to finish in double figures. JJ Starling poured in 10 points, Maliq Brown added eight points, and Chris Bell hit the team’s only three-pointer. This is Syracuse’s first loss to Florida State since January 15, 2022. The Orange had won the last two matchups and 10 of the previous 16.
TUESDAY HS BASKETBALL REPORT: Canandaigua’s Kyleigh Chapman joins 1000-point club; Waterloo girls top Lyons
The Tuesday Wayne-Finger Lakes high school basketball slate was a bit light. However, there were still good games, including a girls matchup between Lyons and Waterloo. Also, Canandaigua senior Kyleigh Chapman joined the 1000-point club.
