We start things off with a big win for the State of New York. They achieved a significant legal victory in its efforts to regulate the cannabis market, with Wayne County Supreme Court issuing a permanent injunction and one-year closure order against the unlicensed cannabis chain ‘I’m Stuck’. The chain, operated by David Tulley, included two locations in the Auburn area and others across Wayne, Monroe, and Oswego counties. [Read More]
Two separate reports released on Tuesday shed light on the migration patterns in New York State. One focused on outmigration and the types of tax filers leaving the state, while the Fiscal Policy Institute’s report examined whether the state’s high earners are moving away due to recent tax hikes. On Tuesday night in the Wayne-Finger Lakes, 11 high school basketball games took place, with a handful of teams playing their first games of the season. Syracuse got back in the win column with an 81-70 victory over Cornell at the JMA Wireless Dome on Tuesday night despite a late scare. Cornell got within three with 2:40 remaining in regulation but after a timeout, Syracuse went on a run and pulled away from the Big Red to secure the victory. And finally, we have the prospect of a special election in Geneva. Tonight, City Council will debate requesting a special election for Ward 6 after a tie between Kyle Brimm and Scott Bowes. The Ontario County Board of Elections has declared a ‘failure to elect’ decision there, so this is one possible solution. [Read More]
